Developing a low-carbon boiler for industry

  • Projects

16 partners have joined forces to launch the production of an industrial demonstrator: a low-carbon industrial gas boiler named « Ch0C », to be launched commercially from 2025.

The Ch0C boiler development project is led by a consortium of French companies, led by Naldeo Technologies & Industries.

This product will provide an easy-to-install alternative to biomass and electric boilers, which are not suitable for all industrial sites (biomass availability nearby, limited electrical power, etc.).

The innovation of the Ch0C boiler lies in the replacement of air by oxygen during combustion: this is the principle of oxycombustion. While improving boiler performance, this process also concentrates the CO2 produced for capture and recovery.

Winner of the France 2030 DEMIBaC call for projects, the project has been awarded public funding of €1.2 million out of the €2.9 million required. The Ch0C boiler is expected to reduce direct CO2 emissions from industrial boiler plants by over 90%.
